ZweigWhite accepting nominations for the Jerry Allen Courage in Leadership Award

FAYETTEVILLE, ARK. — The Jerry Allen Courage in Leadership Award is a unique annual award honoring tenacity, bravery and bold actions by one special leader in the A/E/P and/or environmental consulting industry. Zweigwhite is accepting entries for this recognition, now through Tuesday, October 1, 2013. The award winner will be a person who captures the spirit of Jerry Allen, a man who courageously overcame obstacles to advance his firm to a new level of success and accomplishment. Jerry was known not only for being the CEO of Carter & Burgess, but also as an innovative and inspirational leader, transforming his firm from a 200-employee company with three offices, to a 3,000-person global enterprise.

Nominees should be someone who has demonstrated in a unique way personal courage in their actions. They can be in any role and come from A/E/P and environmental firms of all sizes and types. Previous award winners include Joe Lalli, FASLA, president and CEO of EDSA; Timothy Haahs, P.E., AIA, President & CEO of Timothy Haahs & Associates, Inc.; H. Kit Miyamoto, Ph.D., S.E., president & CEO of Miyamoto International and Global Risk Miyamoto; and Sam Schwartz, CEO, Sam Schwartz Engineering.

The 2013 Jerry Allen Courage in Leadership Award winner will receive prizes including free registration to The Zweig Letter 2013 Hot Firm Conference, October 25-25, 2013; one copy of all 2013 ZweigWhite publications, including Management Surveys, Best Practices and Marketing Research; and a one-year subscription to The Zweig Letter.

Jerry Allen was a friend and mentor to Mark Zweig, Founder & CEO of ZweigWhite. In his honor, a portion of the proceeds from the awards program will be donated to The American Cancer Society.
