WSP USA Hires Manjeet Ranu for Advisory Leadership Role

WSP USA, a leading engineering, environment and professional services consultancy, has hired Manjeet Ranu to serve as the national planning lead and senior vice president for the firm’s Advisory national business line.

In his new role, Ranu will collaboratively lead development, implementation and growth of WSP’s strategic vision for its national planning practice. This vision will be comprehensive, multidisciplinary and leverage existing WSP services to meet the multidimensional opportunities and challenges facing current policy initiatives, and to make impacts that are broadly beneficial and equitable.

“We are very excited to welcome Manjeet to WSP,” said Denise Roth, WSP USA’s Advisory national business line executive. “His extensive leadership experience and exceptional expertise in both the public and private sectors make him an amazing fit for our firm’s Advisory services group.”

Ranu has 25 years of progressively responsible public and private sector experience across Arizona, California, Colorado, Georgia, Texas and Utah. His areas of expertise are land use, transit and environmental planning, in addition to urban design, public engagement, capital development and organizational management.

Most recently, Ranu served as chief of capital programs, expansion and innovation, for the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority. His previous public sector experience includes executive leadership roles with the Utah Transit Authority, Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority, as well as leadership of municipal community planning and development departments in the San Diego region.

In the private sector, he provided planning and entitlement services for community developers, along with policy development for public agencies in San Diego and Denver.

Ranu also served as a community leader in coastal San Diego, and his work has added value to linear infrastructure projects and helped transformed these projects into community investment corridors.

Ranu is a graduate of the University of Colorado with a bachelor’s degree in political science and biology and a master’s degrees in urban and regional planning and public administration. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners and Urban Land Institute and has completed the Eno Center for Transportation’s Transit Senior Executive program.
