Woodard & Curran Welcomes New Chief Technologist

Rajendra D. Vaidya, PhD, PE, BCEE, PMP Will Support the Firm’s Drinking Water Practice

[Lakeland, FL] – Woodard & Curran recently welcomed Raj Vaidya as Chief Technologist for the Drinking Water Practice. He brings more than 22 years of consulting experience with a focus on drinking water treatment and distribution, industrial and municipal wastewater treatment, water reuse, and solid waste.

Raj earned his bachelor’s in civil engineering in 1996, gaining experience thereafter in large wastewater facilities as a contractor and then for the city of Mumbai, India. He completed a master’s degree in water and wastewater in Mumbai and earned a second master’s degree in environmental engineering from Virginia Tech in 2001. Raj worked on EPA’s Project XL and other landfill projects as a solid waste research engineer. He subsequently earned a doctorate focused on drinking water corrosion control from University of Central Florida. His experience ranges from project engineering and management to team leadership and serving as a subject matter expert in water, wastewater, and solid waste. He actively serves on several national committees with the American Water Works Association (AWWA), Water Environment Federation (WEF), and Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA) to review journal papers, conference presentations, standards, and manuals.

“I look forward to immersing myself in Woodard & Curran’s people-first culture, fulfilling our clients’ aspirations, and fostering team stewardship,” said Raj. “My long-term goals align with the firm’s vision and I hope to help strengthen our drinking water practice and team knowledge, while blurring the lines between water, wastewater, and water reuse to truly establish Woodard & Curran as a preeminent one water firm.”

“We are extremely excited to have Raj join our team,” said Drinking Water Practice Lead Robert Little. “His vast expertise will further strengthen our technical capabilities and serve as another exceptional resource to our extraordinary drinking water delivery team and across all of our practices with high level project review and guidance.”

Based in Florida, Raj will contribute to strategic planning, implementation of initiatives, and business development for our southeastern clients and across the country.
