WARE MALCOMB ANNOUNCES CONSTRUCTION IS COMPLETE ON EXPANDED BOSCH FACILITY IN MEXICO

MEXICO CITY (October 1, 2019) – Ware Malcomb, an award-winning international design firm, announced construction is complete on the expanded Bosch office and manufacturing facility located at Calle Circuito Nte 141, Valle de Aguascalientes in Mexico. Ware Malcomb provided architectural and interior design services for the project.

Bosch brings together vehicle technology and the data cloud to develop innovative mobility solutions for private or commercial vehicles, multimodal transportation services, fleet management, and smart transport infrastructure.

The project involved the design of a new 11,000 square meter expansion of Bosch’s existing facilities in San Francisco de los Romo, Aguascalientes, including a two-story office and laboratory building and a single-story production facility. The design utilized metal panels and store-front windows with a clean color palette of whites and greys.

Bosch’s new office building houses the company offices, as well as the engineering and product testing laboratories. The office space is laid out in an open environment to promote collaboration. Some workstations have treadmills to encourage movement and are enclosed within a glass compartment so as not to disturb other workers. Private offices are clustered in the middle, allowing as much natural light into the space as possible. One side of the office has windows that look out onto the manufacturing floor, giving employees a connection to the end-product.

Connected to the office building is a new single-level production facility for Bosch’s automotive parts division manufacturing and logistics operations. This extension allows Bosch to implement a new manufacturing and production process for its brakes within the existing facility. Included in the design was a compressed air loop for the production floor and laboratories, along with corresponding equipment (dryer, compressor, etc.). Additionally, a walkway/gallery is incorporated into the design to connect the various buildings of the expanded facility.

“Ware Malcomb worked closely with Bosch’s corporate design team in Germany to implement Bosch’s global architectural standards while also making the facility unique to Mexico,” said Andres Galvis, Ware Malcomb Regional Director, Latin America. “The result is a world-class facility that promotes collaboration and creates process efficiencies, serving the company and its employees for many years to come.”

Graycor provided construction management for the project.

Ware Malcomb has held a presence in Mexico since 2003 and has completed projects in over 19 states across the country.
