Rosenberg, Texas – VLK Architects joins Lamar Consolidated Independent School District to celebrate the dedication of Fletcher Morgan Jr. Elementary School.

The school’s namesake is Fletcher Morgan Jr., a pioneer of education for Lamar CISD. Born in 1920, Mr. Morgan was a farmer and rancher, a veteran of World War II, and a prolific community leader. He passed away in 2009.

“It is always an honor to open another amazing facility where our scholars can learn and grow,” said Dr. Roosevelt Nivens, Superintendent of Lamar CISD. “Morgan Elementary is a great new addition to our Lamar CISD family and we look forward to the phenomenal things that our staff and students will bring to our community.”

As part of the planning process for the new school, VLK conducted meetings with school leaders to establish project objectives and milestones, facilitating authentic engagement between curriculum, students, and teachers.

“VLK takes great pride in our long-term relationship serving the students and community of Lamar CISD,” said Todd J. Lien, AIA, Managing Partner of VLK Architects. “The opening of Fletcher Morgan Jr. Elementary as the fourth new prototype elementary school will help the district continue to provide quality education to its students as they continue to grow.”

Morgan Elementary was funded as part of the bond approved by voters in 2017.
