Urban Engineers Donates to 10 Charities as a Part of #UR60N Campaign

Philadelphia, PA – Urban Engineers is pleased to announce that it will be donating $2,000 among 10 selected charities that it highlighted on social media during the firm’s #UR60N campaign in November. The campaign was launched in anticipation of Urban’s landmark 60th anniversary and celebrates what the firm values by focusing on a different theme each month.

“At Urban, we have a saying that, ‘we don’t just do well, we do good,’” said Andrew Chakmakjian, vice president and director of corporate development at Urban. “Our staff enjoys giving back to the places that mean something to us. We are thrilled to be able to give back to these 10 charitable groups, mentoring organizations, and causes we support.”

For November, Urban tracked engagement on each #UR60N post on social media that celebrated a nonprofit or cause, and donated $1 for each engagement to a pool to be divided among the highlighted organizations, up to $2,000. The engagements hit and exceeded that threshold. The following organizations will be receiving a donation from the pool:

  • The ACE Mentor Program
  • Alzheimer’s Association
  • Bethesda Project
  • Catalyst (an International Women’s Day charity of choice)
  • Friends of Wissahickon
  • Future City Competition
  • Los Angeles Ronald McDonald House
  • March of Dimes
  • Spark Program
  • Take Our Daughters And Sons To Work Foundation

Urban’s employees strive to improve their communities through the projects they work on and volunteering. The firm promotes service to local communities and the A/E/C profession as a way to translate what it values into visible action. The three ways Urban tends to give back are mentoring programs; volunteering programs and sponsorships; and goodwill programs and efforts. Additional information about organizations the firm gives back to can be found on its website.
