THOMAS & HUTTON NAMES NEW SHAREHOLDERS

Thomas & Hutton is pleased to announce the addition of seven new company shareholders: Will Cox, PE, John Giordano, PE, Domonic Jones, PE, Matt Kiker, PE, John Paul Moore, PE, Ross Oakley, PE, and David Williams, III, PE.

CEO and President Sam McCachern states, “We are excited to recognize the achievement of these professionals.  Sustainability is integral to the vitality of Thomas & Hutton, and ownership transition is part of our plan. For over 75 years, we continue to invest for growth and opportunities, as well as long-term success by transferring firm ownership to the next generation.”

Will Cox, PE is a Civil Project Manager based in our Charleston region. He specializes in the development of residential, commercial/retail, and recreational facilities throughout the South Carolina Lowcountry. After earning his Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering from Clemson University, Will joined Thomas & Hutton in 2014 working in the Environmental Department where he gained experience in the design of water, wastewater, and natural gas systems. A licensed professional engineer in South Carolina and an active member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, Will’s experience is concentrated in the City of Charleston, notably the Point Hope Community where he serves as the master engineer for multiple projects, including a Publix-anchored shopping center and planned multi-phase Del Webb neighborhood.

John Giordano, PE is a Civil Project Manager and licensed professional engineer based in our Savannah region. John earned his Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering from the University of Florida and joined Thomas & Hutton in 2007. He has 17 years of experience providing consulting and engineering design services for projects in Georgia, South Carolina, and Florida. John’s notable projects include Savannah Harbor, multiple infill projects within Historic Downtown Savannah, Lake Mayer Skate Park, Chatham County Detention Center, Chatham County Courthouse, and the Tybee Island Dune Restoration projects. A community steward, he is involved in numerous local charities, including The Red Cross of Southeast Georgia, Surfers for Autism, and Big Brothers Big Sisters. He currently serves on the Campaign Cabinet for the United Way of the Coastal Empire and is an alumnus of the Leadership Savannah Class of 2014.

Domonic Jones, PE is a Civil Project Manager for the Charleston region. He joined Thomas & Hutton in 2015 and holds a Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering from The Citadel and a Master of Business Administration from Florida State University. Domonic oversees the planning and design of large-scale residential, commercial, and roadway projects in the Charleston metro. A graduate of Leadership Charleston’s 2021 class, he is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and served as a mentor for The Citadel School of Engineering’s “Mentor a Cadet” program. Domonic plays a crucial role in projects impacting redevelopment and affordable housing within the Charleston region, including WestEdge (Charleston, SC), Spruill Avenue Icehouse Redevelopment (North Charleston, SC), Gregorie Ferry Towns (Mt. Pleasant, SC), and Restore at Carolina Park (Mt. Pleasant, SC).

Matt Kiker, PE is a Civil Project Manager for the Charlotte region. He joined Thomas & Hutton in 2016 and has 12 years of consulting and engineering experience in the commercial, residential, and industrial markets throughout North Carolina. Matt obtained his Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering Technology from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, as well as an Associate’s in Surveying Technology from Central Piedmont Community College. A licensed professional engineer in the Carolinas, Matt is active in the Home Builders Association of Greater Charlotte and the Union County Chamber of Commerce Young Professionals. He served as a Project Manager for industrial projects contributing to Charlotte’s rise as a logistics hub, such as Delta Drive Distribution Center (Gastonia, NC), Garrison Road Industrial Park (Mecklenburg County, NC), Firetower Industrial Park (Rock Hill, SC), and Accuride Speculative Distribution Facility (Mecklenburg County, NC). Matt also worked as a Project Manager on residential projects, including Cresswind Mint Hill (Mecklenburg County, NC), Cresswind Wesley Chapel (Union County, NC), and Wildwood (Mecklenburg County, NC) subdivisions.

John Paul Moore, PE is a Civil Project Manager in the Savannah region. He joined Thomas & Hutton in 2013 shortly after earning his Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. A licensed professional engineer, John Paul’s experience includes consulting and engineering design services for transportation, commercial, resort, and residential developments. His notable projects include the Montage Palmetto Bluff Resort (Bluffton, SC), Moreland’s residential and amenity development within Palmetto Bluff, Eastern Wharf (Savannah, GA), and the amenity and first phases of Del Webb’s +/- 1,300 home expansion of Sun City into the East Argent PDD (Hardeeville, SC).  John Paul is a member of the First Baptist Church of Statesboro.

Ross Oakley, PE is a Civil Project Manager in the Charleston region. He joined Thomas & Hutton in 2014 working in the Columbia region and recently transferred to Charleston. Ross has 17 years of experience providing economic development services, as well as planning and design for industrial sites/parks, roadway, commercial, and residential projects. A licensed professional engineer and a graduate of Leadership Columbia, he earned his Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering from the University of South Carolina.  Ross is a member of the South Carolina Economic Developers Association and the Urban Land Institute. He is instrumental in several projects that helped transform South Carolina’s economy in recent years, including Volvo and Camp Hall (Berkeley County, SC), Nephron Pharmaceuticals (Lexington, SC), and over 60 industrial sites and parks throughout South Carolina.

David Williams, III, PE is a Civil Project Manager in our Charleston region. He began his career at Thomas & Hutton in 2017 and has 11 years of experience in residential, commercial, and transportation projects associated with site development. David is a licensed professional engineer and obtained his Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering from Virginia Tech. His notable projects include Sheep Island (Summerville, SC), The Ponds (Dorchester County, SC), Azure Canes Crossroads (Goose Creek, SC), and Roper Francis Berkeley Hospital Campus (Goose Creek, SC). David is a Rotarian with the Charleston Rotary Breakfast Club.
