THIS OLD HOUSE Jersey Shore series features Simpson Strong-Tie

PLEASANTON, Calif. – Simpson Strong-Tie, the leader in engineered structural connectors and fasteners, is featured in three upcoming episodes of a special THIS OLD HOUSE television series that follows the rebuilding efforts of Jersey Shore homeowners after the devastation of Superstorm Sandy. The series began Oct. 3 on PBS and is airing during the one-year anniversary month of the storm.

The eight-episode series focuses on three sets of homeowners who began rebuilding their New Jersey homes just months after Hurricane Sandy tore through the region in October 2012. Sandy left millions without power and hundreds of thousands of homes in ruins. THIS OLD HOUSE follows the homeowners on their path to recovery. The series highlights the lessons learned about both the pitfalls and best practices of coastal building.

Simpson Strong-Tie engineered structural connectors and fasteners were used in the homes to create a continuous load path, connecting the foundation, floors and roof. Homes built with metal connectors are more likely to withstand damage caused by high winds from storms and hurricanes.
