ALBANY, NY – The New York State Association of Professional Land Surveyors (NYSAPLS) is celebrating the achievements of the surveying profession in honor of National Surveyors Week. National Surveyors Week is celebrated across the nation from March 20-26 and is an opportunity to appreciate those in the industry, as well as promote the career of land surveying to the public. As part of National Surveyors Week, NYSAPLS will be holding their fifth annual photo contest, “Land Surveying in 2022” and is encouraging land surveyors across the state to submit photos for a chance to be featured on the cover of Empire State Surveyor.

“We are super excited to celebrate and highlight New York’s surveyors over the course of National Surveyors Week. I am eager to see the creative and unfiltered images surveyors submit, illustrating the times we are in. Our long-standing profession has shaped the globe and these photos provide an incredible opportunity to document our history while at the same time promoting our industry to our community,” said Roy B. Garfinkel, President of NYSAPLS.

The photo contest will run through the NYSAPLS Twitter and Facebook pages. The PR Committee will decide the winner and runner up, who will be announced at the end of the week. Whether you are a surveyor, or simply want to celebrate one, any and all photos are welcome.

NYSAPLS currently represents over 900 licensed land surveyors across the state of New York and is committed to assisting and promoting the profession of land surveying. After an unprecedented year, we look forward to a week of celebration for our members.
