The Burns Group named 2013 Employer of the Year by WTS Philadelphia Chapter

PHILADELPHIA — The Burns Group was recently named the 2013 Employer of the Year by the Advancing Women in Transportation (WTS) Philadelphia Chapter. The Employer of the Year Award is given annually to recognize a business for its support of the goals and purpose of WTS.

Exemplified by the organization’s core values, Burns was honored with this award based on demonstrated continued dedication to both the WTS Philadelphia Chapter and the transportation industry through participation in WTS events, support of the scholarship foundation, and advancement of women and minorities in the transportation field.

Burns said it continually encourages female students to enter the transportation field by providing internship opportunities, supports the continuing education of all its employees, and has an outstanding record of affirmative action in hiring and promoting at all employment levels.
