Terracon acquires Argus Pacific, expanding presence on the West Coast

Olathe, Kan. — Terracon, a provider of environmental, geotechnical, materials, and facilities services, announced the acquisition of Argus Pacific of Seattle. Terracon is retaining Argus Pacific’s 16 employees.

Founded in 1997, Argus Pacific offers industrial hygiene consultation and training related to asbestos, lead, mold, hazardous waste, emergency response, and numerous other occupational health and safety topics. Argus Pacific is a certified provider of Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Department of Occupational Safety & Health (DOSH/WISHA), and Department of Commerce consulting and regulated training.

“The acquisition of Argus Pacific further demonstrates our commitment to growing our presence, expertise, and service offerings to clients in Washington and other parts of the West Coast,” said David Gaboury, P.E., president and CEO of Terracon. “The depth of their expertise will bring even greater value to our clients. We are pleased to have them become a part of Terracon.”

Upon closing, effective March 31, the company operates as Argus Pacific, A Terracon Company.

“This is a tremendous opportunity for our organization,” said Richard Frazee of Argus Pacific. “Joining forces with a nationwide leader like Terracon affords us the opportunity to bring a unique set of skills to the organization, as we expand our services to clients across the country.”

The newly acquired firm joins RGA Environmental, Inc. and Neil O. Anderson and Associates (NOA) to become Terracon’s third Pacific Coast acquisition in the past two years. The acquisition brings together the resources of three organizations with complementary services and an ability to mobilize staff to support changes in workload and project demands. RGA has locations in Seattle and in Irvine, Calif. NOA is based in Lodi, with offices in Sacramento and Concord, Calif.
