STV acquires Civil Structures, Inc.

DALLAS — Civil Structures, Inc., a Dallas-based bridge and highway design firm was acquired by STV. The new group, now called STV/Civil Structures will continue to operate in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex and become part of STV’s Transportation & Infrastructure Division.

According to Dominick M. Servedio, P.E., STV’s chairman and CEO, the “acquisition allows STV to continue its expansion of services in Texas, particularly in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Texas is the second-largest state in the country, and it is facing the problems that come along with an aging infrastructure. With this strategic acquisition, STV is even more prepared to help Texas meet its needs.”

STV, which opened its main Dallas office in 1997, is working on the Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) light rail extension. The firm is providing program management, design and construction management for the $400 million, 25-mile, 13-station light rail build out. In Houston, STV has been providing engineering and construction management services for multiple projects ranging from pipelines and pump stations to automation and control systems.

Prior to being acquired by STV, Civil Structures served as the prime consultant on many notable projects in the Dallas/Fort Worth area for the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), including the East First Street bridge replacement at Trinity River, the US-287 Heritage Parkway Interchange, and various on- and off-system bridge replacements for the TxDOT Fort Worth and Dallas Districts. In addition, the firm has provided design and construction services on the Dallas Fort Worth International Airport People Mover and the DART program.
