Strategic Group Hire Enhances Stantec’s Transit Capabilities

Respected team from Fuel Solutions brings fuel infrastructure expertise to firm’s national operations

Global integrated design firm Stantec announced that team members from Fuel Solutions— a design and technical consulting agency specializing in fueling infrastructure— will join its Buildings practice, bolstering the firm’s footprint in the greater Los Angeles area. Based in Culver City, California, the four-person Fuel Solutions team will support Stantec’s transit, public works, zero emissions vehicles, and hydrogen fueling projects as the expanded team strives to meet the holistic needs of transportation agencies and the communities they serve.

Founded in 1994, Fuel Solutions has provided design, engineering, and technical consulting services to fleet owners and facility operators for safe, efficient, and cost-effective solutions for alternative and conventional fueling facilities. The firm’s clients include major fleet operators Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority, Riverside Transit Agency, Regional Golden Gate Bridge Highway and Transportation Authority, Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada, New York City Transit, Orange County Transit Authority (CA), Los Angeles Unified School District, TriMet, SoCal Gas, General Motors, Atlanta MARTA, and Anaheim Transportation Network, among others.

New team members joining Stantec include:

  • Reb Guthrie, Principal
  • Bruce Guthrie, Consultant
  • Faye Farahmand, Senior Mechanical Engineer
  • Rob Kuchta, Mechanical Technologist

“The exceptional team from Fuel Solutions brings a focus on innovation, client service, and excellence, and we are proud to welcome them to Stantec,” said Patrick M. McKelvey, senior principal for Stantec. “Their long track record of delivering effective fueling solutions for clients throughout California and beyond will be invaluable as we look to expand our transit capabilities across the US.”

Stantec — recently ranked #2 in Transit Architecture on Building Design + Construction’s 2021 Giants 400 Report — works in every mode of transit, including light rail, intercity rail, subway, streetcar, conventional bus, and bus rapid transit. The firm challenges conventional ideas and practices to provide cutting-edge, yet realistic options for safe, efficient, and affordable transit.
