Stewart Welcomes Manager of Business Development to Charlotte, Columbia Offices

Robert Allen brings government and business relations experience to the role

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Stewart, an interdisciplinary design, engineering and planning firm, announced today Robert Allen is joining its business development team as manager for the Charlotte and Columbia, South Carolina offices.

“Robert has been active in Charlotte for more than 20 years, serving as a former elected official, building relationships with city and town managers and businesses alike, and strengthening the community through service initiatives,” said George Stanziale, president and chief business development officer at Stewart. “Combined with his focus on market growth, Robert brings valued market experience onto the team as we look to build on our nearly 20-year presence in the Charlotte markets.”

Based out of Stewart’s Charlotte office, Allen collaborates with practice and studio leaders across its Charlotte and Columbia offices to strengthen relationships with current and potential clients while also seeking out new clients and business opportunities.

Throughout his two decades of experience in business, municipal planning and real estate, Allen has worked closely with governments and private businesses to build relationships as well as drive critical solutions and results. This includes serving as an elected council member in Indian Trail, a suburb of Charlotte, during a time of unprecedented progress, as well as chairman of planning boards and steering committees in Union County.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in business from the University of Tampa. Involved in his local community, Allen is active in Mecklenburg County’s Minority, Women and Small Business Enterprise Program; serves on the board of the Charlotte FBI Citizens Academy, formed to promote a safer community through community service projects; a member of Oasis Shriners in Charlotte and volunteers as a coach for Special Olympics North Carolina.
