The National Association of Colleges and Employers reported that according to its final salary report for the college class of 2006, the average salary offer to civil engineering graduates with bachelors’ degrees was $46,084, an increase of 5.3 percent compared with one year ago. For comparison, computer engineering graduates received an average offer of $53,096; mechanical engineering, $51,808; chemical engineering, $56,269; computer science, $50,744; marketing, $37,191; accounting, $44,928; and English, $31,385.
