Pleasanton, Calif. — Simpson Strong-Tie is once again joining other industry associations and organizations in supporting the International Code Council’s (ICC) 2016 Building Safety Month in May. As a Major Sponsor, Simpson Strong-Tie is encouraging the industry and the general public to learn more about ways to make buildings, homes and decks safe and strong.
Building Safety Month is a public awareness campaign during May to help individuals, families and businesses understand what it takes to create safe and sustainable structures. As an annual event, this year’s theme is “Building Codes: Driving Growth through Innovation, Resilience and Safety.” The four-week campaign spotlights a specific area of building safety through weekly themes:
- Building Solutions for All Ages,
- The Science Behind the Codes,
- Learn from the Past, Build for Tomorrow, and
- Building Codes: A Smart Investment.
The overall goal is to reinforce the need for adopting modern, model building codes as well as implementing strong and efficient code enforcement and a well-trained, professional workforce to maintain the system.
