Simpson Strong-Tie is first sustaining organization member of ASCE Structural Engineering Institute

PLEASANTON, Calif. – Simpson Strong-Tie, the leader in engineered structural connectors and building solutions, demonstrated its continued commitment to the structural engineering community by becoming the ASCE Structural Engineering Institute’s first Sustaining Organization Member.

SEI is a network of more than 20,000 individual members who represent the broad range and diversity of the structural engineering community. It is the premier organization committed to advancing the structural engineering profession by providing its members resources for research, education and standards development.

For nearly 60 years, Simpson Strong-Tie has led the industry in structural connector design. Today, Simpson Strong-Tie holds more patents than all other connector companies combined and has more than 60 engineers on staff. The work Simpson Strong-Tie does in its labs not only helps with new product development, but also with new technology and ideas for the industry on how structures are designed and built.

“We are proud to be the first SEI Sustaining Organization Member,” said Jeff Ellis, S.E., director of Codes & Standards. “In addition to the research performed at our own test facilities, we also support the engineering community through academic collaboration with other researchers in the United States. Sponsoring SEI at this level is another great opportunity for us to support the structural engineering community.”
