Indianapolis – Indianapolis-based Schmidt Associates has hired Sabrina Lasley and Alvin Laguerre as architectural graduates; and Thomas Kennedy, EIT as an engineering graduate.
Lasley started as an architectural intern for Schmidt Associates in 2019 where she worked on a variety of projects in the design development, final design, and construction document phases. After graduating from Ball State University with her Bachelor of Architecture in 2021, she joined the firm full time. She is currently working on projects in the firm’s Higher Education Studio.
Laguerre began his architectural career as an intern for Axis Architecture where he was heavily exposed to schematic design development and construction documents for commercial projects in the Midwest. Following his 2021 graduation from Ball State University with a Bachelor of Architecture, Laguerre joined Schmidt Associates where he is working on projects in the firm’s K-12 Studio.
With dual bachelor’s degrees in Physics and Mechanical Engineering, Kennedy started as a mechanical intern for Enverity Engineering before serving as a mechanical engineer for Circle Design Group where he developed drafting skills and techniques and performed quality analysis on drawings. He is currently working on projects for the firm’s Community Studio.
“We’re thrilled to have Sabrina, Alvin and Thomas join Schmidt Associates,” said Sarah Hempstead, AIA, LEED AP, CEO and Principal of Schmidt Associates. ” The principals and I look forward to working with all three of these talented professionals as we advance the firm’s footprint throughout the Midwest.”
