Sam Schwartz wins three ACEC-New York 2016 Engineering Excellence Awards

New York — Sam Schwartz won a prestigious Diamond Award under the Transportation category for the Rockefeller University River Building. The Sam Schwartz team is the lead traffic engineering consultant during construction of the new River Building over the FDR Drive spanning between East 64th Street and East 68th Street. The construction of the building is extremely complex due to numerous construction and site logistics constraints.

The firm’s second win for the evening was a Platinum award under the Special Projects Category for The World Trade Center (WTC) Transportation and Logistics Planning. Working with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey and the WTC Office of Program Logistics, the Sam Schwartz team conducted an intensive, daily effort to manage all logistics for the WTC site.

Sam Schwartz’s third win was a Gold for Transit Systems and Impacts of Shared Mobility. The firm is performing a national study on behalf of the TransitCenter. The Study’s purpose is to better understand the evolving relationship between fixed route transit systems and emerging forms of shared mobility such as ridesourcing, bikeshare, carshare, and dynamic shuttles.
