Rudy Giuliani to address water experts at AWWA conference in Boston

DENVER –  Former Mayor of New York City Rudolph Giuliani will address more than 2,000 water professionals from throughout North America at 9 a.m. Monday, June 9, during the opening general session of the American Water Works Association’s Annual Conference & Exposition (ACE14) at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center, Boston.

ACE14, which will bring an estimated 11,000 water experts to Boston June 8-12, is the longest running water conference in the world, having first convened in 1881. The event features several hundred expert presentations and an exposition of more than 500 companies showcasing the latest innovations in water technology.

Sponsored by HomeServe, a leading provider of home emergency repair service plans, Mayor Giuliani’s address will cover his experience as a two-term mayor of America’s largest city and will include his insights on the myriad of challenges facing municipal leaders today. His remarks will also delve into security concerns facing communities and address the risk facing America’s water and wastewater infrastructure, while inspiring the water community to take on the challenge of leading U.S. utilities down the road to infrastructure renewal.

“Mayor Giuliani understands from his unique experience the critical role that our water systems – and those who build and care for them – play in the health and safety of our communities,” said AWWA Chief Executive Officer David LaFrance. “His presence at the ACE14 opening general session underscores the importance of the work water professionals accomplish 24/7, every day of the year.”

The ACE14 agenda features speakers on hundreds of critical water issues, including conservation and drought management, infrastructure and affordability, desalination and water reuse, emerging contaminants and new treatment solutions, and more.
