PTI annual conference to award scholarships, present technical sessions

FARMINGTON HILLS, MICH. — Design professionals, contractors, inspectors, educators, code officials, industry representatives and many more will come together to collaborate on post-tensioning specifications and standards at the Post-Tensioning Institute’s (PTI) 10th annual Technical Conference and Exhibition, May 1-3, 2011, in Kansas City, Mo.

The 2011 conference will feature informative technical sessions, technical committee meetings, a special awards presentation and an exhibition showcasing the latest in post-tensioning technology and services. Technical sessions will cover a wide variety of modern post-tensioning topics including bridges, repair/strengthening, buildings, slab-on-ground and more. To get the most out of the conference all attendees are encouraged to share their expertise and attend committee meetings.

On Tuesday, May 3, PTI will honor recipients of the Edward K. Rice and William C. Bailey Memorial Scholarships at a special awards presentation. Gabriele Guerrini, Amy Hufnagel, Karen Jatkowski, Ryan Jenkins, William Trono, and Aaron Woods will be honored for their academic excellence and focus on post-tensioning design and application.

In addition to the technical program, there will be numerous opportunities to network with key industry decision makers and companies at the Welcome Reception and throughout the conference in the Exhibit Area.

Preceding the conference PTI will hold a Level 1 Unbonded PT- Field Installation Certification Workshop April 30- May 1. A discounted rate (value $50) is available to all attendees who register for the conference.

The convention will be held at the Westin Crown Center. Attendees who register by April 8, 2011 will receive reduced registration rates.
