Pennsylvania civil engineering firm celebrates 15 years

YORK, PA. — First Capital Engineering Inc. (FCE), a York County-based full service civil engineering firm specializing in land surveying, landscape architecture, stormwater/wastewater management, erosion and sedimentation control, and construction inspection services, recently celebrated its 15th anniversary.

During the last 15 years, FCE has grown in size and provides all of the required services for many “tough” projects that require civil engineering.

First Capital Engineering was the first firm to acquire grant funding for the Safe Routes to
Schools project, a locally administered PennDOT transportation improvement project that made students safer during their walk to and from school. Central York and York Suburban School District both benefited from this project.

Other significant projects that required FCE’s professional consulting services included the award-winning East York Traffic Calming project, Concord Road, Brickyard Industrial Park, Windsor Commons Shopping Center, Leg Up Farm, Florin Hill Traditional Neighborhood, Unilife, and White Rock Commercial.

As a company, First Capital Engineering has received numerous awards that owners Ann Luciani and John Luciani are both very proud of. “We are successful because of our dedicated and driven employees and because our community welcomed us with open arms. For that, we are truly grateful and proud of this anniversary,” said CEO Ann Luciani.

Like any small business, First Capital Engineering had to work from the bottom up. “Some days were hard, but we’ve surpassed and overcome a lot in 15 years. Looking back, I wouldn’t change anything,” said President John Luciani, P.E., PLS.

First Capital Engineering is a certified, women-owned business enterprise through the commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s Department of General Services. FCE was named one of the Best Places to Work in Pennsylvania in 2009. The firm is located at 48 South Richland Avenue in York, Pa., and provides cost-effective, time-tested technical solutions to engineering problems by organizing a team of professionals around specific goal-oriented tasks in order to maintain the highest level of quality and integrity.
