Pennoni acquires J2

Philadelphia — Engineering, science, and design consulting firm Pennoni acquired the assets of J2 Engineering, headquartered in Pensacola, Fla. The firm will now do business as J2 Engineering, a Division of Pennoni.  Founded in 2001, J2 Engineering (J2) provides environmental, engineering, construction management, and design-build services.

“We are excited to have J2 Engineering join Pennoni,” said Pennoni’s Director of Strategic Growth, Joe Viscuso, P.E. “J2 has a strong reputation for customer service, quality performance, and high safety standards. They have provided construction management and design-build services to federal and other clients for the last 14 years, which is a great complement to both our federal and design-build initiatives.”  

Cecil Whitlock, president, will remain active in the company. “Joining Pennoni enables our clients and staff access to Pennoni’s full breadth of engineering, design, and planning services.  J2’s approach to client service parallels Pennoni’s like-minded approach,” said Whitlock. “Having the additional capacity and several new services offered by Pennoni enables us to provide even more value as well as gives us a more competitive edge in the design-build market.”

J2 expands Pennoni’s presence to 28 offices throughout the eastern U.S.
