Paseo Verde scores a national honor for its LEED Platinum achievement.

Philadelphia — The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) named Paseo Verde its “Project of the Year,” in recognition of its civic-mindedness, environmental responsibility and innovation. The win by Paseo Verde was a team effort that consisted of top-notch consultants — MaGrann Associates of Mount Laurel, N.J., was the LEED certification (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Rater and Provider for Paseo Verde; Wallace Roberts and Todd were the Architects; Asociación Puertorriqueños en Marcha and Jonathan Rose Companies of New York were co-developers; and Domus Inc. was general contractor and builder.

Paseo Verde is a rental-housing complex in the Temple University area. The, striking, 206,000 sq. ft. transit oriented development, features 120 units that provide energy-efficient, healthy living environments to market-rate and low-income tenants. The complex also provides essential community services such as primary health care, a pharmacy, retail stores and community service stations on premise.

MaGrann Associates has been at the forefront of the green building movement, and a premier choice for builders and developers nationwide, for more than 30 years. Mark MaGrann, founder and CEO of MaGrann Associates states, “When we began, the green building movement was in its infancy, and builders were not very receptive, but time has proven the benefit of our approach to conserving resources, building sustainable communities, conserving energy and making our communities healthier for everyone.”

MaGrann president, Rich Selverian, stated that the company is very proud of its role in improving communities in Philadelphia and added, “Over the years, we have been a part of many great projects, but Paseo Verde is the epitome of our mission and we could not be prouder of MaGrann being part of the collaborative team and the project being recognized as the nation’s best in environmental and residential standards. Paseo Verde is opening doors to residents who might not otherwise be able to enjoy such a quality lifestyle.  Paseo Verde is truly community living at its very best,” he added.
