Parsons Brinckerhoff selected to update AASHTOs Guide for Visualization in Transportation

Denver — Parsons Brinckerhoff was awarded a contract to update the Guide for Visualization in Transportation put out by the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO). In 2003, the AASHTO Technical Committee on Environmental Design (TCED) developed the guide to provide assistance to state departments of transportation that were seeking information, guidance, and technical assistance on using visualization technology on infrastructure projects. 

Visualization has become a core tool throughout project development and delivery and is now the predominant technology for communicating alternatives as a project advances. Because of this trend, the TCED has determined that it is necessary to develop a new version of the Visualization in Transportation Guide.

To achieve this goal, the TCED selected Parsons Brinckerhoff to update the current guide to include new technological advancements, processes, and techniques, as well as applicable case studies. The new document will also feature interviews with several state agencies, general research, and case study assessments. Delivery of the updated guide is expected in the spring of 2015.
