P3 2013 to bring together Canadian and international P3 leaders

TORONTO — The Canadian Council for Public-Private Partnerships (CCPPP) will host its 21st annual conference, “Canadian P3: Building the Global Standard,” on November 7-8 at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel in Toronto. With Canadian governments renewing investments in infrastructure and services in a climate of austerity, public-private partnerships (P3s) continue to be a proven alternative to traditional delivery. Hear about emerging sectors, best practices and topical issues that are shaping P3s today and into the future.

This year’s program will feature high-profile keynote speakers, including Kathleen Wynne, Premier of Ontario; Jin-Yong Cai, CEO, International Finance Corporation; and Tim Leiweke, president and CEO, Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment as well as Canada’s P3 agency heads, auditors general, leading mayors and representatives from U.S. states who will discuss latest P3 developments in their respective jurisdictions.

“This is the P3 event of the year that will bring together 1,200 public- and private-sector leaders from across the country and around the world to debate and discuss the latest issues,” says Mark Romoff, president and CEO, CCPPP. “It’s a chance for representatives from a wide variety of professions to hear about what’s putting Canada on the map as a global P3 leader.”

The conference will also celebrate the 16th Annual National Awards for Innovation and Excellence in Public-Private Partnerships. Awards are presented to public- and private-sector partners that are best in class in P3 finance, infrastructure and service delivery.
