Nemetschek Brand Graphisoft Strengthens its Business in France and French-Speaking Switzerland

• Graphisoft to acquire Archicad distributor for France and French-speaking Switzerland

• Stronger relationships with and direct support for customers in France/Switzerland

The Nemetschek Group today announced that its subsidiary, Graphisoft, headquartered in Budapest, Hungary, has signed a Sale and Purchase Agreement with AV-Tech Group to acquire its distributor, Abvent, for France and French-speaking Switzerland. Graphisoft is part of the Planning & Design division at the Nemetschek Group. The acquisition is another milestone in Graphisoft’s journey as a leading global player in the AEC industry.

“France and the French-speaking parts of Switzerland are two of Europe’s most influential markets in the AEC industry,” says Viktor Várkonyi, Chief Division Officer Planning & Design Division of the Nemetschek Group. “Abvent has been a strong partner for us in these important markets. Their expertise will strengthen our positioning as one of the leading software providers for the AEC industry – and the acquisition will leverage our go to market expertise and bring us closer to the needs of our customers,” he concludes.

Abvent has been Graphisoft’s distributor in France since 1985 and in French-speaking Switzerland since 1991, offering award-winning software solutions and high-quality support and training to thousands of architects. The non-Graphisoft businesses from Abvent will be moved into a separate legal entity. The deal is expected to close in the next several weeks, at which time Abvent’s Archicad business units — including market relationships, employees, and assets — will become part of Graphisoft.
