Miller Legg completes landscape for FIU U.S. Century Bank Arena/Panther Plaza

MIAMI — Miller Legg completed design for the FIU U.S. Century Bank Arena/Panther Plaza, which provides an iconic open space on FIU’s main campus. The Plaza’s spatial organization accommodates large arena crowds entering and exiting the arena, as well as at special outdoor events. The design showcases native Florida habitats of FIU’s mascot, the Florida Panther, and improves campus sustainability through innovative use of stormwater bioswales.

Miller Legg supplied planting, irrigation, lighting design, and assistance with the design of hardscape and site furnishing improvements. The project was awarded a 2012 State of Florida AIA Merit Design Award. Miller Legg provided landscape architecture services as a subconsultant to Gould Evans.
