McAdams Names Jason Herndon as First General Counsel

Herndon brings more than 20 years of trusted legal experience as McAdams strengthens its team for continued growth

RALEIGH, N.C. — McAdams, a multidisciplinary planning, design and engineering firm headquartered in Raleigh, North Carolina, announced that Jason Herndon has joined the firm as its first general counsel, effective October 6, 2025. Adding Herndon to the McAdams Executive Leadership Team strengthens McAdams’ ability to grow confidently, manage risk, and move quickly as the firm continues its rapid multi-market expansion.

“Jason has been a valued advisor and partner to McAdams for decades,” said Mike Munn, president of McAdams. “His addition strengthens our foundation for growth and ensures we continue providing outstanding experiences to our clients and teammates alike.”

Herndon brings more than 20 years of legal experience from the well-regarded law firm Parker Poe, a long-standing partner of McAdams. In his new role, he will lead legal strategy and provide in-house counsel across the company’s service lines, supporting growth initiatives, acquisitions, and complex client engagements. His leadership will help accelerate decision-making, streamline contract review, and strengthen operational excellence. McAdams will continue its valued relationship with Parker Poe for outside counsel needs.

“I have admired McAdams’ people and culture for many years,” said Jason Herndon, general counsel. “I feel very fortunate to have the opportunity to be their first general counsel. Joining the firm feels like a natural next step, and I’m excited to build this role to support McAdams’ continued growth.”

Herndon previously led Parker Poe’s Construction, Development & Condemnation Practice, where he advised developers, design professionals, contractors, municipalities, and utilities on contract negotiations, dispute resolution, and litigation. He has chaired committees within the North Carolina Bar Association and is regularly recognized for excellence in construction law. This background brings not only depth of legal expertise but also proven leadership in complex, high-stakes matters that align closely with McAdams’ work.

“Jason’s deep knowledge of our business and markets will allow our teams to focus on what they do best, creating experiences for our clients, while he provides expert legal guidance,” said Jon Moore, McAdams’ chief operating officer.

The appointment underscores McAdams’ commitment to operational excellence, thoughtful expansion, and delivering greater speed, consistency, and proactive legal guidance for its clients. By formalizing this role, McAdams positions itself to accelerate growth and continue providing exceptional service in every market it serves.
