Demonstrating the impact of design on the business community in greater Los Angeles, the 52nd annual Architectural Awards took place Dec. 1, hosted by an influential group, the Los Angeles Business Council.

Gathering at the Beverly Hilton today over lunch, hundreds of architects, designers, business leaders and elected officials will take part in recognizing over four dozen projects for design innovation, selected from hundreds of competing submissions.

Along with Michael Murphy, chair of architecture at Georgia Tech and founder of Mass Design Group, attendees include Mia Lehrer, FASLA, founder and president of Studio-MLA, who will take awards for her work and involvement in two honored projects, the Audrey Irmas Pavilion at the Wilshire Boulevard Temple by OMA with landscape architecture by Studio-MLA, and the mile-long Destination Crenshaw open-air museum for African-American history and culture, led by Perkins&Will and Studio-MLA.
