Gale hired to support transportation practice in firm’s New York City office

FAIRFAX, VA —

Dewberry, a privately held professional services firm, has announced that Lori Gale, PE, has been hired as a senior project manager in its New York City office supporting the bridge structures group.

Gale brings nearly 40 years of experience managing and providing technical expertise for a broad range of projects involving bridges, dams, and other heavy civil structures. Previously in her career, Gale worked in the public sector for the New York Power Authority (NYPA) and for consulting firms, including Dewberry in the late 1980s. While at NYPA, she served as chief dam safety engineer and led the civil/structural engineering department, providing technical authority and consultation for more than 150 dam and civil works projects annually.

“Since joining us late last year, Lori has contributed greatly to our practice by providing project management for bicycle facility projects in New York City, which will provide cyclists safe access routes,” says Dewberry Associate and Assistant Department Manager Michael Arotis, PE. “We’re excited to welcome her to Dewberry and utilize her many years of experience with public and state agencies.”

Gale earned a certificate in engineering management from Clarkson University (2017), her master’s degree in structural engineering from the University of Michigan (1988), and her bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Connecticut (1983). She is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and the Association of State Dam Safety Officials.
