LJAs Grounds receives floodplain management award

Houston — John S. Grounds, III, Ph.D., P.E., CFM, D.WRE, director of Water Resources at LJA Engineering, Inc., was honored at the Texas Floodplain Management Association (TFMA) Conference, receiving the Roy D. Sedwick Service Award. This award is presented to an individual who has demonstrated long-term leadership in the association and made significant contributions that have influenced and advanced the association.

As a Full Member, Grounds was acknowledged for his significant influences to floodplain management and valued service to the program. He will continue to serve as a member of the Board of Directors.

The Roy D. Sedwick Service Award was created in 2004 in honor of the founder of TFMA, who dedicated his life to floodplain management in both the public and private sector. TFMA has become a respected voice in floodplain management practice and policy in Texas.
