LJAs Ashley Francis receives ASCE’s Young Engineer of the Year Award

Houston — LJA Engineering, Inc. congratulated Ashley Francis, P.E., for being presented with the American Society of Civil Engineers 2016 Young Engineer of the Year Award. She was also chosen as a recipient of Engineering News Record (ENR) Texas and Louisiana’s 2016 Top 20 under 40 Award.

Ashley is a Project Manager and Green Infrastructure Advocate with over 8 years of civil engineering experience including expertise in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and design, and development of master drainage plans for site and large-scale land development projects.

She is currently serving her second year as the ASCE-Houston Community Service Chair. Additionally, she is the Lead Drainage Engineer for this year’s Colonia Esmerelda Water Supply and Drainage Project in El Salvador sponsored by Engineers Without Borders, as well as the Outreach Chair for the non-profit.

For the last several years Ashley has also served on the Advisory Board and chaired the Education Committee of the Houston Land and Water Sustainability Forum.

At LJA, she serves as the subject matter expert for Green Infrastructure Development and as the Senior Representative to the LJA Future Leadership Group. She is a Registered Professional Engineer, a Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM), and Certified Sustainable Building Advisor (SBA).
