Philadelphia, PA – Urban Engineers is pleased to announce that Laura Frein, CPSM, has been hired as the business development and marketing manager for the firm’s surface transportation market. She joins Urban with more than 16 years of experience in the consulting engineering field.

Laura’s experience and capabilities align with this role, working both internally and externally to build strategic relationships, improving our business acquisition process, generating new leads, and expanding our client base.

Ms. Frein is a Certified Professional Services Marketer who spent most of her career concentrating in marketing and business development within the transportation industry. She has expertise in thoughtful messaging and utilizing visuals to enhance communications and marketing efforts through presentations, infographics, report design, video creation, and design. Her business development and marketing skills have been recognized with industry awards including 2021 SMPS Marketing Communication Award of Excellence in the Trade Show Category and Merit Award in the Project Pursuit – Digital Category.
A graduate of Susquehanna University, where she earned her bachelor’s degree, Ms. Frein received a Master of Business Administration from LaSalle University. In 2021, she qualified to become a member of Beta Gamma Sigma the international business honor society for AACSB-accredited schools, which are the top 5% of business school programs around the world. She is also a longtime member of SMPS Philadelphia and serves on the organization’s board as the communications director. Additionally, Ms. Frein serves on the board of the Montgomery County Transportation Authority.
