LANE OPENS NORTHWEST PIPE PLANT AND DISTRIBUTION YARD

Lane President and CEO Patrick X. Collings addresses the group during the open house tour of the company’s new Pacific Coast pipe plant that also serves as a stocking distribution yard.

CAMP HILL, Pa. – Lane Enterprises, LLC today announced it has opened a new plastic pipe production facility in Longview, Washington.  The 38-acre site with 19-acres in use, will also act as a stocking distribution yard for the company’s steel pipe, stormwater chambers and allied products.  Currently, two lines are producing corrugated high-density polyethylene (HDPE) pipe in diameters from four to sixty inches with plans to add a third line.  Recycled as well as virgin HDPE is used by the company.  Additionally, the plant will manufacture polypropylene pipe in the future.  The facility will also house the company’s regional sales department and engineering support staff.

Lane’s new plant currently has two high-density polyethylene corrugated pipe production lines.
There are plans to add a third.

“We built this plant to provide for the needs of stormwater projects in the Northwest,” stated Patrick X. Collings, president and CEO of Lane.  “A key market, for example, is building roads for timber harvesting which dominates the Pacific Northwest.  We also see great opportunities by expanding our reach further into North America by servicing Canada.  This has been a central element of our plan since we acquired Pacific Corrugated in 2021.”

Lane is the nation’s second largest producer of corrugated steel and corrugated thermoplastic pipe for stormwater management along with a full line of chambers, fittings and accessories for commercial, residential and public works stormwater projects.  Additionally, Lane produces structural steel and aluminum plate for bridge and culvert applications.  Founded in 1934, the company has 17 manufacturing facilities in 10 states with more than 500 employees.

For the new plant grand opening in October, Lane hosted an open house and tour of the plant.  Attending were specifiers, design engineers, contractors, distributors and city officials from Longview.

Longview Mayor Spencer Boudreau at that time said “Today, we got to tour the new Lane Enterprises Pipe factory and yard at Longview’s Mint Farm Industrial Park.

“From four inch all the way up to 60-inch diameter, Longview workers produce and sell corrugated pipe for culvert projects all over the northwest made from new and recycled plastics.  These state-of-the art machines are leading the way in production right here in our community.  Longview is for business, and it’s a great day to finally see the Mint Farm area being utilized to its potential.”

Collings added, “Longview has excellent access to highways and interstates, plus rail lines and shipping from the Port of Longview.  This provides us with several advantages including delivery of raw materials such as resin and steel plus the means to expedite shipments to our customers in this region all the way into Montana, the Dakotas, Canada plus Alaska.” Additional information is available at www.lane-enterprises.com or www.pcpipe.com
