Karibia Baillargeon Receives APWA Outstanding Service in the Private Sector Award

Karibia was recognized for her dedication to the public works profession, particularly her years of service with APWA San Diego & Imperial Counties Chapter.

SAN DIEGO, California – The American Public Works Association (APWA) San Diego recognized Kleinfelder Project Manager Karibia Baillargeon for her dedication to the public works profession with an Outstanding Service in the Private Sector Award.  The award celebrates a private sector individual who inspires excellence and commitment to public service through outstanding career achievements.

A well-respected engineer, Baillargeon has spent the last 13 years supporting Southern California public agencies with infrastructure projects ranging from roads and highways to bridges and transit corridors. In addition to her resume of successful projects that have enhanced numerous Southern California communities, Baillargeon has dedicated years of service to industry organizations such as American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) San Diego Chapter where she participated as a member and served on the Awards Planning Committee.

Over the past six years, Baillargeon has increasingly focused on serving APWA through involvement in Chapter events and leadership roles.  She has served as a member, co-chair, or chair of several APWA committees including the International Affairs Committee, Dinner Gala Committee, Awards Committee, and PWX Host Committee.  Commenting on her service to the chapter, Baillargeon stated, “APWA is all about collaboration and the sharing of ideas for the greater good…I am so proud to be a member of a dynamic chapter and look forward to continuing to serve the public works community.”

Baillargeon’s undeniable commitment to public service has established her as a leader that is dedicated to making a difference in the industry. “Karibia commits her time and energy to helping this industry succeed, whether it’s through project work or volunteering through associations.  She is truly deserving of APWA’s recognition,” stated Kleinfelder Client Account Manager Vic Bianes, who has been a member of APWA for the past 15 years and serves as a Technical Director on APWA’s National Board.
