A new, modern designed high school for students 

(Dallas, TX, Date) KAI, an integrated architectural, engineering and construction services firm providing design provided the architecture and engineering services has added the renovation and expansion of the DISD South Oak Cliff High School in Dallas, Texas to their extensive list of projects, aimed at transforming communities.

KAI’s team created the modern design for the expanded 264,000 square-foot building, $52 million project, with the goal in mind of helping the community by transforming the school into a safe, viable and 21st century learning environment for the students of South Oak Cliff. Design features for the high school includes a new public entry, new student entry and gathering commons, new science labs, renovated classrooms, 2,000 seat competition gymnasium, 200 seat auxiliary gymnasium serving as storm shelter, weight room, performing and fine arts spaces and a multitude of indoor and outdoor collaborative learning spaces including two existing internal courtyards repurposed; one as an amphitheater and the other learning and outdoor gathering space.
