JQs new projects track market growth in Lubbock, Texas

Lubbock, Texas — The Lubbock office of JQ is capitalizing on the city’s growth with new projects, according to principal Natalie Harvill, P.E., LEED AP.  Says Harvill, “With a growth rate projected to be more than 40 percent over the next decade, our Lubbock office has been very active, proposing on new projects.”

Most recently, the firm was hired to provide structural engineering services for the new 11,000-square-foot Dr. Minns Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Clinic, located at 10206 Quaker Avenue in Lubbock, Texas. Interior spaces will include a 6,000 square feet finish-out that includes exam rooms, aesthetic rooms, procedure and laser treatment rooms with ancillary spaces.  The remaining 4,000 square feet will become a licensed operating suite with two ORs and support spaces.  The main entry rotunda will feature a contemporary addition to the new clinic.

The $2.48 million construction project broke ground in December 2014 and is scheduled for completion in October 2015.  General contractor for the new clinic is Lee Lewis Construction, Inc. The architect is Condray Design Group.

“We were pleased to be part of such a great project team,” says Harvill.  “Given the diversity of the Lubbock business market, we anticipate many more projects that track Lubbock’s growth from food processing to manufacturing, and healthcare to higher education.”
