JQ Dallas, Fort Worth, and Austin agree to merge

DALLAS — JQ has restructured its Texas-based operations, according to co-founder and principal Gary W. Jaster, P.E. “We have contemplated this restructuring for several years due to our diverse and growing engineering practice in Texas, he said. “Our offices in North and Central Texas are experiencing strong demand for our services, and we are developing a greater regional footprint in many markets.”

Under the restructuring plans, JQ Dallas, Fort Worth, and Austin have agreed to operate under an umbrella arrangement, providing greater centralization of the firm’s processing systems, including its database management, IT, and human resources functions. The former partners of JQ San Antonio have elected to depart from the firm.

“Given our growth in the industrial and power markets and our expertise in water infrastructure, the timing was right to make this decision,” says JQ principal Stephen H. Lucy, P.E.

“Our clients will be minimally affected by this transition which will enable us to serve them more seamlessly and efficiently,” says Lucy. “We are excited about moving forward under one umbrella so that we can provide support in other key cities, such as Lubbock and Houston.

In addition to its Texas client base, JQ has been actively engaged in various health care and power-related projects in Oklahoma.
