ICC Group C Code change submittal deadline extended to Jan. 10

WASHINGTON, D.C. – To give its Members and all code development process participants more time to become familiar with cdpACCESS, and due to the year-end holidays, the International Code Council has extended its Group C online code change submittal deadline to Jan. 10 from Jan. 6. cdpACCESS—ICC’s new online component of the code development process—will be used for the entire cycle of all activities for Group C Code Development, including for the first time online voting following the Committee Action and Public Comment Hearings.

The 2014 Group C Committee Action Hearings, April 27–May 4 in Memphis, Tenn., offer Code Council Members and others in building safety and the construction industry an opportunity to voice opinions and offer expertise to develop the 2015 International Green Construction Code.

cdpACCESS, which includes remote voting, allows greater participation in code development because participants can be involved from just about anywhere there is Internet access. With cdpACCESS, it is possible to invite colleagues to work on code changes and public comment submittals, review posted code changes and public comment agendas, collaborate on hearing preparation and vote. To learn more about cdpACCESS, visit www.iccsafe.org/cdpACCESS.

Hearing participants are not required to be ICC Members to attend the hearings or participate in the code development process. The hearings are free to attend. ICC Primary Representatives are encouraged to review and verify the credentials of their Voting Members before the Memphis hearings. Governmental Members need to be in the system 30 days prior to a code action hearing to vote on assembly motions. Voter designation changes and validation of voter credentials for 2014 can be made after Jan 1. If you have immediate questions, email Members@iccsafe.org.
