ICC-ES launches listing program for building products with an 8-week or less turnaround time

WHITTIER, Calif. – As one of its initiatives to provide manufacturers more options to enter the building product market quickly, ICC Evaluation Service (ICC-ES) has launched a new listing program for qualified manufacturers. This program offers manufacturers an additional certification option to assure code officials they are approving products that are safe and in compliance with consensus standards referenced in the building codes.

“The manufacturers will benefit from our fast, technically unsurpassed listing process and our enhanced focus on providing excellent customer service,” said ICC-ES President, Shahin Moinian. “We make the listing process easy while providing this new, cost-effective program from an organization whose evaluation reports are widely accepted by code officials.”

To qualify for the program, a product must meet requirements in a standard specifically listed in the applicable I-Codes.

Products already referenced in the International Building Code® (IBC) or the International Residential Code® (IRC), and used as intended by the codes, also will qualify for an ICC-ES listing. The list of product categories covered by this program can be found at www.icc-es.org/categories.

ICC-ES will complete the qualifying inspection once the manufacturer has provided all necessary information. If the product successfully meets applicable requirements, ICC-ES will issue the listing within eight weeks or less of the initial application.
