IBC 2012 code compliant anchors now available – Hilti’s HDA Undercut Anchor obtains first IBC code listing

TULSA, Okla. –  Hilti continues its dedication to bringing products to the contracting and engineering community that meet the latest requirements of the International Building Code (IBC) by obtaining the first post-installed compliance for IBC 2012.

The Hilti HDA Undercut Anchor is a highly reliable self-undercutting anchor. The International Code Council Evaluation Service (ICC-ES) has issued an updated ICC Evaluation Service Report for the Hilti HDA Undercut Anchor (ESR-1546), listing compliance with the Strength Design provisions of IBC 2012 and ACI 318-11, Appendix D. ESR-1546 can be downloaded from the ICC-ES website at www.icc-es.org and from the Hilti website at www.us.hilti.com/anchors.

The Strength Design procedures and calculations for post-installed and cast-in-place anchors are detailed in Appendix D of the Building Code Requirements for Structural Concrete (ACI 318). The IBC Building Codes and ACI 318 are published in 3-year cycles. IBC 2012 Building Code is intended to be used with ACI 318-11.

Hilti’s leading Strength Design software, PROFIS Anchor, has been developed to assist the anchor designer with post-installed and cast-in-place Strength Design calculations.

Hilti anticipates updating the ICC Evaluation Service Reports for their mechanical anchor portfolio to IBC 2012 by the end of May, 2012.
