HNTB’s Gagné receives the design-build industry’s highest distinction

Named to 2020 Class of Design-Build Institute of America Fellows.

CHARLOTTE  – Jeff Gagné, PE, FDBIA, vice president and delivery officer for HNTB Corporation’s Southeast Division, was selected by the Design-Build Institute of America as one of five industry leaders for the 2020 Class of DBIA Fellows. Designated Design-Build Professional™ Fellow status is the highest level of DBIA certification and acknowledges the achievements of the nation’s most accomplished design-build professionals.

“Design-build is the fastest growing and most popular delivery method in our nation’s architecture, engineering and construction industry,” said Jim Whitaker, FAIA, FDBIA – Chancellor, DBIA College of Fellows. “Much of that success is driven by the incredible leadership of design-build innovators like those elevated to the DBIA College of Fellows. The addition of these five new DBIA Fellows in 2020 is just one indicator of the depth of experience and passion for collaboration which drives design-build’s success nationwide.”

Gagné oversees project delivery for HNTB’s Southeast Division. His alternative delivery experience spans 27 years and includes design and project management services for highway, bridge, transit and rail projects for both private and public clients throughout the country. He serves on the DBIA Transportation & Aviation Committee and is a director on the DBIA Certification Board. Gagné earned his Bachelor of Science in engineering technology in civil engineering technology from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

“I’m honored to be recognized by the industry with such a distinction and look forward to continue working with HNTB clients and colleagues on alternative delivery approaches that meet the transportation infrastructure needs of our communities,” said Gagné.

Elevation to Fellow status celebrates individual career achievements and promotes DBIA principles through the DBIA College of Fellows. DBIA Fellow status is limited to 2% of Designated Design-Build Professionals who are elected to Fellowship by a jury of their peers. This year’s class will be inducted during the national Project/Team Awards ceremony at the 2020 Design-Build Conference & Expo October 28-30.
