HNTB honored with Professional Services of the Year Award by Hispanic American Construction Industry Association

Chicago — The Hispanic American Construction Industry Association named HNTB Corporation the winner in its Professional Services of the Year category at the organization’s 36th annual banquet last month.

“HNTB is honored to receive this award,” said Amar Rajpurkar, HNTB vice president and Chicago office leader. “It underscores our commitment to hiring and developing talented individuals with diverse backgrounds.”

The Hispanic American Construction Industry Association’s annual awards banquet provides an opportunity to award Chicago area members and partners for their support of the organization and its mission to ensure the equitable participation of its constituents in the construction industry. It is consistently recognized as the largest construction industry event in the Midwest.

HNTB professionals are committed to celebrating diversity and making the world better by supporting a wide variety of organizations, such as the Women’s Transportation Seminar, with donations of time and resources. For example, last year the HNTB Chicago office contributed more than 1,200 hours of service to local organizations, including hosting a WTS Transportation YOU event for 35 Girl Scouts of America to experience engineering and transportation careers firsthand.

“We’re proud to support the Hispanic American Construction Industry Association and are committed to building relationships with organizations making a positive impact on our region’s transportation and infrastructure industries,” Rajpurkar added.

HNTB’s Chicago office continues to grow and provide career opportunities, particularly in the areas of transit design and engineering. The firm employs approximately half of all track and signal engineers in the city of Chicago. Currently, HNTB is providing architectural, structural, traction power, communications, train control, mechanical and environmental mitigation support services for the Chicago Transit Authority’s rehabilitation of its 100-year-old Wilson Station. HNTB continues to provide program management for the city of Chicago’s bridge inspection program, the Illinois Tollway’s Move Illinois Program and the Pace Arterial Rapid Transit Program.
