GBA Spring Conference to focus on Optimizing Performance

Silver Spring, Md. — “Optimizing Performance for Our Firms and Our Clients: Innovation in Practice” is the general theme of the 2015 Spring Conference of the Geoprofessional Business Association (formerly ASFE), April 16-18, at the JW Marriott Marquis Miami Hotel in Miami.

“Innovation is the conference’s theme,” said GBA President Steven D. Thorne, P.E., D.GE (Terracon), “and I cannot remember a time when innovation has become so necessary. We are confronted by changes and challenges every day, in the outlooks of clients, in the tools available to us, in the make-up of our workforce. We have to innovate to stay at least one step ahead and optimize performance for our clients and our firms. We also have to be mindful of the fact that, in innovation, there is risk. Of course, innovation also creates a tremendous amount of opportunity, and we’ll be addressing that as well.”

Some of the session titles include:

  • Innovation of Any Company: How To Engage Employees in Solutions for the Future;
  • The Dark Side of Innovation;
  • Free Every Generation To Innovate;
  • Diversity Is the New Inclusion;
  • Lead Smart: High-Performance Leadership of the Generational Workforce;
  • Get Out of Your Box: Success with Multiple-Service-Line Projects;
  • Trapped under the Sea; and
  • Nuclear Regulatory Compliance: Lessons Learned, Action Taken.

The conference will also include several networking events where attendees discuss their recent experiences, new developments, and mutual opportunities.
