Gannett Fleming—s Corporate Sustainability Report honored

HARRISBURG, PA. — Gannett Fleming’s 2011 Corporate Sustainability Report (CSR) received an honorable mention in PR Daily’s 2012 Corporate Social Responsibility awards program. PR Daily is a news publication produced through Ragan Communications, a publisher of corporate communications, public relations, and leadership development newsletters. The document placed in the Best CSR on a Shoestring category, competing against reports from major U.S. and international companies.

Gannett Fleming’s CSR highlights the firm’s success in achieving a set of three-year sustainability goals one year ahead of schedule. It is titled “2011 Acts of Sustainability” to represent both the reporting year of the document, as well as the nearly 2,000 employees who performed acts of sustainability in the office, at home, and in service to clients.

The CSR is an extension of the firm’s corporate sustainability program launched in 2009. As part of this program, the firm defined the sustainable metrics it would record, established baseline data, and set reduction goals in an effort to measure progress in reducing the firm’s environmental footprint. In 2010, Gannett Fleming published an internal report to enlighten employees about the results of the program. The 2011 report is the firm’s first external CSR, which invites all stakeholders, including clients, business partners, and the public, to share the results.
