FREESE AND NICHOLS ADDS SENIOR DAM AND WATER RESOURCE ENGINEER ROGER KITCHIN IN HOUSTON

HOUSTON  – Freese and Nichols, Inc., has added Roger Kitchin, PE, an accomplished engineer with more than 40 years of international experience, to our Water Resource Design division in Houston as a Senior Engineer. He will be a valuable addition as we expand services related to dams and complex flood control structures and systems for clients across southeast Texas and Louisiana.

Kitchin, a native of the United Kingdom, worked in Canada for 24 years before moving to the United States in 2001. He has been a recognized leader on dozens of water-related projects in North and South America, Europe, Southeast Asia and the Caribbean totaling more than $1 billion in construction value.

His multifaceted experience includes new and rehabilitation dam engineering, dam safety, emergency action plans, pump stations, water/wastewater, hydrology and hydraulics, irrigation and drainage. He is known for adopting innovative approaches to developing cost-effective solutions.

Kitchin is registered as a Professional Engineer in Washington State, Oregon, Nevada, Alaska and Alberta, Canada. He received an MBA from the University of Calgary and a bachelor’s in Civil Engineering from the University of Birmingham in the United Kingdom.
