FDOT selects HNTB for third-straight District 5 contract

Contract will allow firm to extend and build upon foundation client

ORLANDO, Fla. HNTB was recently selected by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District 5 for its third consecutive General Engineering Consultant (GEC) contract, which will extend the firm’s term of service from 11 to 16 years. HNTB will provide professional engineering staff both at the client’s office and services from their Lake Mary office.

“Our team is excited to continue serving FDOT District 5; many of us got our start there and consider District 5 our home,” said Frank O’Dea, HNTB project manager. “HNTB has a history of outstanding service to District 5, but our focus is not on the past, but on how we will support the District over the next five years.”  O’Dea will lead a team of professionals, including deputy project managers Michael O’Donnell and Eric Brulé, who have served District 5 for many years, and Michelle Harrison, engineering department manager.

In addition to supporting District 5 with delivering their work program, HNTB’s GEC team has shown their commitment to the community by adopting a section of SR 472 near the District office in DeLand. “Our team gets together regularly to pick up litter on “our” highway, and we actually have drivers who show their encouragement and support by honking and cheering us on as we work.  It is one way we can show our appreciation to a great client and our community who have been great partners over the years.”
