EMPEQ Welcomes Veteran and DevSecOps Visionary Michael Fraser to Board of Directors

The Air Force veteran and cybersecurity expert will play a key role in the company’s future tech and software development.

ITHACA, N.Y. — EMPEQ, a software development and financial technology company serving the commercial HVAC, energy engineering, and building equipment industries, is excited to announce the addition of Michael Fraser, a lifelong entrepreneur and technology leader, to their Board of Directors. Fraser will join EMPEQ’s team as a company Director and advisor to help secure and accelerate DevSecOps adoption for the Fast Site Survey™ app.

“I am very honored to be lending my experience to EMPEQ as they seek to reshape the HVAC and energy industry through AI,” said Fraser. “As a serial tech entrepreneur and Air Force veteran, I am excited to lend my expertise to fellow tech entrepreneurs and military service members, especially one like EMPEQ that is transforming their industry.”

In his new role, Michael will be lending his years of cybersecurity and tech development experience to the EMPEQ team, providing valuable insights on cybersecurity, business development, and emerging technologies. Fraser boasts over 20 years of tech and business experience, starting multiple successful tech-sector businesses throughout his career.  His latest venture as co-founder and CEO of Refactr, a DevSecOps automation platform, helped bridge the gap between development, security and operations teams so they can innovate collaboratively and build modern security-first DevSecOps solutions using the tools they already love. Refactr was acquired by Sophos in August 2021 and Michael is currently VP of DevSecOps.

“We are elated Michael will be joining our board to help us revolutionize the commercial building energy equipment space. We’re fortunate to have experts like Michael on our team, and his extensive cybersecurity and IT experience will play a significant role in the continued innovation and development of our Fast Site Survey technology,” said Herbert Dwyer, CEO of EMPEQ.
