DFI announces SuperPile ‘17

Hawthorne, N.J. — The Deep Foundations Institute (DFI) is hosting its tenth annual SuperPile conference on June 14-16, 2017, at Loews Coronado Bay, Coronado, Calif.

SuperPile ‘17 (www.dfi-superpile.org) is being organized by nine of DFI’s Technical Committees in partnership with ADSC. The two-day event will include presentations on the latest developments in augered cast-in-place/drilled displacement piles, drilled shafts, driven piles, ground improvement, helical piles and tiebacks, marine foundations, micropiles, testing and evaluation of foundation systems, and seismic and lateral loads.

During the two-day conference, invited and selected presentations will highlight advancements, innovations and challenges in design and construction of deep foundations, particularly related to piling solutions. Case histories that highlight best practices for project safety from design through construction along with national and international projects and topics relevant to the Southern California area will be presented. Panel discussions on current topics will provide attendees opportunities to share new ideas. In addition, equipment, material and instrumentation suppliers, contractors, engineers and other vendors will exhibit their products and services.

Two annual DFI awards will be presented at SuperPile ’17: The Ben C. Gerwick Award for Innovation in the Design and Construction of Marine Foundations, which recognizes the innovative spirit of Bill Bermingham, DFI past president, and the Osterberg Memorial Lecture and Award, established in honor of Dr. Jorj O. Osterberg, to recognize innovations in deep foundations construction related to engineering design, testing or education.
